Welcome to HandyCraftsHub

Your home should feel like yours, not like a showroom someone else designed.

HandyCraftsHub is a home improvement and decor blog built around one simple idea: real homes are lived in, and the advice you follow should reflect that. Every article here is written by people with direct, hands-on experience in home organization, decor, DIY, and design. Whether you are refreshing a single room, organizing a small apartment, or tackling a full renovation, you will find guidance that has been tested in real homes, not just assembled from other articles.

No generic tips. No recycled lists. Just honest, experience-backed guidance from a small team that has actually done the work.

Meet Molly Catherine

Founder, Editor, and Home Organization Specialist

Hi, I am Molly, and I started this blog because I got tired of home advice that looked good on screen but fell apart in real life.

I have spent years working through real home organization challenges, from cramped apartment storage to full room overhauls. That hands-on experience is what drives every decision I make as an editor. I do not publish ideas I have not personally tested or researched thoroughly. If a system does not hold up on a busy Tuesday morning, it does not make it onto this site.

I founded HandyCraftsHub to fill a gap I kept running into: most home content was either visually polished but impractical, or functional but completely uninspiring. I wanted a resource that offered both, something grounded in real use, backed by research, and written by people who have genuinely wrestled with the same problems you are facing.

Every article I write or commission, comes from that place. Real experience, honest guidance, and a genuine respect for your time and your home.

All content is researched, written by subject-matter contributors, and reviewed before publication. We update articles when guidance evolves or new insights emerge from ongoing real-world experience.

Why I Started This Blog

The honest answer is frustration.
When I started working seriously on my own home, I realized that most of the advice I found online was written to attract clicks, not to actually help. Ideas were staged for photographs, not lived in. Tips were repeated from site to site without anyone ever checking whether they worked.
So I started documenting my own process. Every change I made, every system I tested, every layout that failed before I found one that worked. I kept detailed notes, photographed results over time, and researched the reasoning behind design and organization principles rather than just accepting them.
Over time, it became clear that others were looking for the same thing: guidance from someone who had genuinely done the work, not just compiled a list. HandyCraftsHub is built on that foundation. Every article traces back to direct experience, careful research, or both.

A Few Things About Me

  • I rearranged my living room four times before landing on a layout I actually love. Each attempt taught me something worth sharing.
  • I have strong opinions about drawer organizers and have tested more of them than I care to admit.
  • My benchmark for any new system is whether it still works on a busy Tuesday morning, not just when the house is tidy.
  • The notes I kept while working on my own home eventually became the foundation for this site.
  • A well-documented before-and-after is, genuinely, one of my favorite things.

How We Create Content

Every article at HandyCraftsHub goes through a consistent process before it is published. Ideas come from direct experience, reader questions, or identified gaps in available home guidance.

Writers research their topics thoroughly, drawing on hands-on knowledge and credible sources. Articles are reviewed for accuracy, practicality, and clarity before going live.

We do not publish content just to fill a calendar. We publish when we have something useful and well-supported to say. Existing articles are revisited and updated when design thinking evolves or new information improves the guidance we can offer.

Our standard is simple: would this actually help someone make a better decision about their home? If not, it does not get published.

Transparency and Trust

We believe trust is built through consistency and accountability. Every article on this site carries a named author with a defined area of expertise and a direct contact address. There are no anonymous posts and no hidden contributors.

Our editorial decisions are independent. We do not accept payment to feature products or brands, and we do not let advertising relationships shape what we recommend. When we suggest something, it is because direct experience or thorough research supports it.

If you ever have a question about how a piece of content was created, or if you spot something that needs correcting, you are welcome to reach out directly. We take that kind of feedback seriously.
